Roan Stewart
Roan Stewart was born into, and grew up in the art community; being the son of parents who were artists and key players in the bronze casting industry.
Growing up in this environment, Roan was immersed in creativity and craftsmanship, filled with a network of established and inspiring artists to look up to and learn from. This contributed to Roan’s grasp of art and creativity; acknowledging its importance in society, helping Roan to develop this drive and direction as a painter.
His work has evolved over his lifetime, maturing to the point of creating such powerful work at such a young age.
“Unseen”
Roan has been influenced by artists who are driven by moments in his life and he is able to articulate the concepts visually, in line and colour. The series he has assembled for “UNSEEN” employs indirect self-portraits and characters that investigate the need for purpose and intent. Withdrawn images complimented by an intense palette, placing focus on a resolve for inner equality from an invisible backdrop. In tune with semiotic abbreviations, his message sends the viewer resolution of unnoticed personalities and places them center stage among us.
